U.S. Air Force Announces Project to Build Advanced Components for Future Electronic Warfare

U.S. Air Force researchers at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio have issued an announcement regarding the creation and development of the Advanced Components for Electronic Warfare (ACE) Phase 0 program. Similar to the Microwave and Millimeter Wave Monolithic Integrated Circuit (MIMIC) program implemented decades ago, ACE Phase 0 will develop and establish capabilities, infrastructure and knowledge necessary to design and product advanced electronic and photonic components for electronic warfare.

ACE Phase 0 will focus on developing integrated photonic circuits (IPC), millimeter-wave (MMW) source and receiver components for electronic warfare, reconfigurable and adaptive RF electronics (RARE) and heterogeneous integration for photonic sources (HIPS). Security on the program will be extremely tight to reduce program vulnerability and no foreign participants will be allowed at the Phase 0 industry day briefings. Companies must pre-register and submit certified Military Critical Technical Data Agreements per federal DD Form 2345 in order to attend the briefings.
