Electronic Warfare Suite Successfully Detects Radar Threats

Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE) has developed an advanced electronic warfare suit that flew on a combat aircraft in India for the first time last week. The EW suite is equipped with a radar warner and jammer that detect and terminate radar attacks and threats. The suite successfully detected radar signals throughout the duration of its flight on the Tejas-PV1.


“LCA is the first fighter aircraft of India fitted with a radar warner and jammer equipment. It has capability for both radar warning and jamming using a Unified EW Technology. Over the coming few months, ADA and DARE will be scheduling further sorties to evaluate the system in various signal scenarios," J. Manjula, DARE director, said.
